The new 12MP Center Stage camera is a massive step up from the old 1080p webcam, offering much better dynamic range for harsh backlight situations. The six-speaker sound system with force-cancelling woofers remains unmatched in the 14-inch category, producing rich, room-filling spatial audio.

Who Should Buy It?

If you are upgrading from an Intel-based Mac, or even an M1 Air, the jump in sustained performance and display quality is monumental. The bump to 16GB of base RAM resolves the biggest complaint of the previous generation, making the entry-tier model a genuinely future-proof machine for software engineers, photographers, and students. It is an expensive investment, but given its exceptional longevity, unparalleled battery life, and flawless build quality, it is worth every rupee of the premium asking price.
